An Advocacy Letter to the Ministry of Education

In December 2021, CODE, along with OMEA, the National Theatre School Drama Fest, the Ontario Secondary School Dance Fest, and the Canadian Improv Games, sent a letter to the Ministry of Education advocating for parity in the execution and availability of extracurricular activities.  We chose at that time to not share it widely because of the onset of Omicron.

However, we are now in a position where the province is opening up and extra-curriculars starting up again, making the letter and arguments to the Ministry just as valid as they were in December 2021.  Please read the attached letter and share widely with your MPP, trustees, director and principal.

Equity of access and application of all extra-curriculars is essential to address student well-being and mental health.

Read and share widely.
