Book your school for Opera Atelier’s Making of an Opera program for 2010/11! Opera Atelier provides a unique opportunity for students to experience what goes into staging/producing a Baroque opera.
The Making of an Opera program brings students together with OA’s creative team to learn about all the components that make up an operatic performance. From the music, costuming, set design, dancing and dramatic technique, students participate in an interactive workshop to understand how Opera Atelier produces a Baroque opera and how all aspects of the arts are involved. Teachers and students walk away with newfound appreciation for ballet and opera from the 17th and 18th centuries.
MOAO is a 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. workshop and all participants attend a dress rehearsal performance. Workshop dates for 2010/11 are:
