We are pleased to announce that the Council of Ontario Drama and Dance Educators will be developing resource materials to support Intermediate/Senior teachers with the implementation of the Drama and Dance curriculum in the context of inquiry learning. The development of resources reflects CODE’s mandate to encourage and support Drama and Dance in education in Ontario.
Writing teams will create resources to support secondary teachers in the facilitation of student-led inquiry in dance and drama. These resources will be available to CODE members on our website at www.code.on.ca.
This package outlines the experience needed, areas of responsibility for writers and application forms for this project. Honoraria indicate the amount that writers will receive. Writers will be paid once completed resources are delivered to the Principal Writer by the agreed upon dates.
Active and current members of CODE will be given priority in the consideration of applications for these writing positions. Understanding of inquiry learning, Word processing skills and familiarity with Google Docs are a must.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE in the following areas will be considered for this Project:
A clear understanding of inquiry learning
Experience with student-led inquiry in a classroom setting
A strong command of written English
Previous experience with writing projects
Knowledge of the curriculum and expectations
Familiarity with word processing programs and Google Docs
Sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of equity issues
Sensitivity and awareness of the needs of all areas of the province
Experience teaching Intermediate/Senior dance and/or drama an asset, but consideration will be given to teachers of other subjects who have demonstrated considerable knowledge in inquiry-based learning
The RESPONSIBILITIES are as follows:
All WRITERS will:
Attend a two-day training session on August 27th-28th 2015.
Work with their Lead Writer to draft an action plan for the creation of the resources
Engage in ongoing dialogue with their writing team throughout the writing process and use his/her feedback to make revisions to the resource by the agreed upon delivery date; and
Complete and send the draft resources to the Principal Writer no later than September 30th 2015
Timelines for Inquiry Resource Project:
Training Days: August 27th and 28th, 2015
First draft delivered from Writer to Lead Writer: Monday September 14th 2015
Final draft delivered to CODE President by September 30th, 2015
Writers will be paid $1500 each to create and write an inquiry resource guide.
Lead Writers will be paid $1750 to write and coordinate their writing team.
