Paper Canoe Project/Cahoots Theatre Production in Association with Native Earth presents I Call Myself Princess on September 27, 2018 for a discounted price of $15 

CODE is excited to offer a CODE member night to a Paper Canoe Project/Cahoots Theatre Production in Association with Native Earth of I Call Myself Princess by by MeĢtis playwright, and award-winning artist, Jani Lauzon. This interdisciplinary work explores the tension between representation, inspiration and cultural appropriation, as William unravels the complex circumstances faced by Indigenous performers past and present. Thursday Sept 27th 8pm at Aki Studio (with a pre-show chat about Cultural Appropriation in the Arts) I Call myself Princess offers an opportunity to continue vital conversations about Indigenous people on Turtle Island. Through this story, students can witness and learn about Indigenous reconciliation, Indigenous history, same-sex relationships, and how to research and investigate history for themselves.
