YPT in association with Shine Creative Coaching presents: VOICE CARE FOR TEACHERS

At the end of your teaching day or week do you: • experience tightness in your throat? • experience hoarseness? • experience discomfort when swallowing (a sore throat or the sensation of swallowing lumps)? • find your voice weak or breathy? • find your voice has become increasingly tired, only to ‘bounce back’ after every weekend?

If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions you may be experiencing vocal strain and could be doing damage to your voice during your workday. All three workshops are from 6:30pm-8:30pm. October 5th, 2011 February 1st, 2012 April 4th, 2012

The workshops take place at Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People, 165 Front St. East Toronto, ON M5V 1E3 Regular Teachers Rate: $40.00 per session Special Ontario College of Teachers Rate: $35.00 per session Teacher Candidate Rate: $30.00 per session

Designed for teachers and teacher candidates of all disciplines, Voice Care For Teachers is a great professional development opportunity; it is a chance to learn the vocal secrets of professional actors and techniques that will help you maintain a strong and clear voice throughout your teaching day. Our exercises give you tools for preventing vocal strain and developing a more even and powerful voice. Improving your voice will give you stronger presence and enliven your classroom lessons, your sports coaching sessions or any situation where you need to be clearly understood.
