CODE'S CALL TO ACTION

CODE acknowledges that our association spans land across Turtle Island, which is the traditional territory of many Indigenous peoples. We honour them as the original storytellers and stewards of this land. May we never forget their legacies, and may we learn well the lesson their descendants have to teach us about living on and with the Earth. We will practice this sign of respect, acknowledge the rich history of these lands and Indigenous nations, honour the truth of the past, and uphold our original treaty (The Two Row Wampum) to peaceably care for the land and each other, through our drama and dance teaching practices.

Please use this statement along with your acknowledgement of the original people of the land you stand on at all of your drama and dance events and in your classrooms.

CODE works in active and respectful partnership with the First Nations, Metis and Inuit Education Association of Ontario www.fnmieao.com
