The National Roundtable for Teacher Education in the Arts (NRTEA) has released its annual report. The NRTEA meets annually with arts educators from accross the country to discuss and explore arts education. This year the group came together to discuss and explore the following: "A Self/Community Initiated Journey: A Quest for the Evolving Nature of Teacher Education in the Arts." It had three objectives over its two day interactive meetings:
1. Explore the evolving status and nature of arts education
2. Focus on specific strategies to engage teachers and pre-service teachers/educators in arts education.
3. Use underlying principles of education to discuss mergers, fusion and integration as possible avendues to achieve their goals.
