CODE's Summer Writing Projects

2026-2030 Resource Revision Writing Project: Phase 2

We are pleased to announce that CODE will be revising resource materials to respond to the decisions and recommendations of the CODE Resource Review Committee. From 2016-2022, a team of reviewers conducted an equity review of the entire CODE catalogue of resources, deleting, archiving, and unpublishing some resources because their content no longer aligned with curriculum, with CODE’s understanding of teaching in a good way, etc. Some resources were worth saving but require significant revisions. CODE is dedicating financial resources to make these updates.

Writers will revise specific resources focusing on the feedback from reviewers and adding their own expertise to the alterations they make.

CODE is seeking the following writers to revise the following resources before June 30, 2027:

  • Critical Literacy - Primary Empowering Community Helpers
  • Primary Drama Fairytale Unit - current version is unpublished
  • Primary Drama Animal Survival – Drama and the Environment - current version is unpublished
  • African & Hip Hop Grade 7 Dance
  • Canadian Theatre Focus Course
  • Social Dance Focus Course Profile
  • Equal But Different - Grade 11/12 Workplace Drama
  • Cyber_bullying.ca - Intermediate Drama
  • Dance and Identity: Intrapersonal and Interpersonal Intelligence - Grade 9 Dance

We are also looking for a Reviewer for a new 3-part secondary Scene Study Resource.

Note: Applications will be ongoing until candidates who meet the needs of the project are identified. If none are identified in time for the June 30, 2027 deadline, a new funding year will begin and we'll proceed from there.

Sample Long-Range Plans K-8

One of the most frequent requests from new-to-dance/drama teachers is for long-range plans. It is a difficult task to avoid being prescriptive, so we’re hoping to create some sample long-range plans that are flexible enough to be appropriate for a variety of classes (with different frequencies, allotted minutes, language of instruction, etc.), but specific enough to demonstrate how assessment might look over the course of a term/year.
