CODE is excited to announce the launch of its website for the 45th Annual Conference, Drama, Dance and the Discovery of WE. This year, hundreds of incredible educators, artists, pre-service teachers and advocates of the arts will join together from October 23-25, 2015 at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale to celebrate, explore, share and develop exciting tools in the teaching of drama and dance. This conference is going to be huge and we would love you to be a part of it! Please peruse the exciting events that will be offered, and register to be a part of this wonderful weekend!
Calling all amazing drama and dance artists and educators! We are still seeking drama and dance workshop proposals, especially those from our experienced 'Master' drama and dance specialists, for this year's conference. Starting in September of 2015, Faculties of Education in Ontario will move to a two-year Bachelor of Education Model. Michael Wilson, Past President, founding CODE member and long-time advocate for the Arts in Ontario schools led a panel discussion at the 44th Annual CODE Conference in October 2014, about the state of Teacher Education in Drama and Dance, and what we can do as teachers and as a subject association to ensure the long-term viability of our subject areas in Ontario Schools. Mirrors in Dance and Drama: A Journey to Identities has come to a successful close. Workshop resources are now available in the Teaching Resources section, and will be open to all visitors until December 1st, after which time, they will only be available to CODE members.
