Through the use of movements common in everyday activities, students develop and choreograph group dances.
Overview
Pre-requisite Knowledge
It would be beneficial for the students to have knowledge and/or experience with the five elements of movement, i.e. relationship, time, energy, space, and body.
Focus
Through the use of movements common in everyday activities, students will develop and choreograph group dances.
Overall Expectations
Refer to Grade 5 to 8 Dance for appropriate expectations.
Materials and Resources
You will require a large open space where the students can form circles of 5-7 students.
Teacher's Notes
Everyday Dances will take 1 hour from modelling to the final group dances performed.
Due to the nature of the lesson, the students should be reminded of the inherent safety precautions they should be aware of while creating/rehearsing/performing.
