  1. Home
  2. Resources
Abstract:
Students will learn the difference between wants and needs and the importance of setting priorities in terms of how money is spent. In groups, students will be given $100 to “spend” and will have to account for exactly how it is spent. Students will reflect on their choices and deal with unexpected life circumstances that will be thrown their way, which will affect their budgeting decisions. Created in 2010 for 2009 Ontario Curriculum Support.

Note: As CODE's Financial Literacy writing project took place in 2011, they do not currently align with the Ontario Math curriculum expectations for Financial Literacy. The revision of these resources for better alignment is a priority for CODE's resource revisions.
